Yes, it is, Will. It will make working with these other illnesses, infections, prednisone, and
methotrexate a lot easier. MDI has made a big improvement, but I sure have to take a lot of
injections each day. My bg has been a bugger since that fall at Hampton Inn last Sept, and the
subsequent surgical procedures - five since Oct. When the infections flare (just days after
getting one cleared, and then on prophylactic - macrodantin), I'm not worth a flip because my
body just is not strong enough to handle them; they put me flat of my back until cleared but
THEN I have some pretty good days once increasing the antibiotic.

Now the not-so-good-news......... at the completion of today's lithotripsy, they informed me I
would have to have another one (the lith techs told me, my doctor had left, and I'll be finding
out more when I go in for my follow-up appointment). Evidently, this stone is something else;
this is the second attempt at it, and it still will not break up. Oh, how I hope it does the
next time, as I'm afraid it might mean actual surgery if it doesn't. He has really been trying
to avoid that, but I'm to the point now that I'd do anything to get rid of it all. My
understanding is that I still have one in my bladder, and they do not do lithotripsy on the
bladder ones because they cannot keep the stone(s) stationary. In the mean time, though, I'll
have learning my new pump to keep me busy. :)
