that dave does not matter one way or the other in your life.

The point?

That your daughter is actually quite lucky to have a mother like you
who loves her and fights for her, in spite of your own illness and
injury and pain.

The point?

That nothing someone like dave says or does can truly hurt your
daughter, take anything away from her, or in anyway lesson or cheapen
your relationship with her.

the point?

is that your daughter has given you something that dave will never
have nor comprehend. the proof of that is his perpetual anger.

The point?

is that you should actually feel pity for dave.
