Of course. There is definitely a gene for speaking French.
I don't have it. Nor do I have the gene for speaking
Italian, Greek, Czech or German. Thank goodness some of the
people I communicated with in those countries have the gene
for speaking English.
I've noticed that very few of the people I meet in my own
country and the USA have that gene:-)
