http://www.barcharts.com/
As you can see, they provide information on a variety of subjects. But you'd have to buy this particular chart to see what I refer to.<<
That's a commercial site selling flash cards and other quick study aids. Not interested, thanks.
>> I also have something loaded on my computer called "Nutrition Facts" by Michael Silver. I got it from someone here some years back.<<
Doesn't sound like any kind of authoritative scientific publication.
>> Can't remember where. According to that, a serving of plain chicken has 3.1 mg of vitamin C. So while there is some, it's a minute amount, given that the body needs 60-5,000 mg daily. Salmon, Atlantic, farmed has 3.31 mg. Again, not a lot of vitamin C and not what I would depend on for a source of vitamin C. Beef seems to have none. Ah, but then the OP doesn't eat beef. Just looked that one up on a whim.<<
But it doesn't really matter because the OP gets lots of vitamin C from all those green veggies. How much daily vitamin C do you estimate that he requires?
>> >> That's not a cite. Your hand isn't a cite. A referenced scientific >> publication that is available for scrutiny is a citation. Like the ones >> I posted for you.
Well, I've shown you where you can get my chart. If you want to.<<<
Sorry, I want a little more information than a flashcard.
>I also looked up tofu. I didn't find potassium listed. So I looked it up on the Internet.
http://www.safeway.com/wellness/healthnotes.asp?org=safeway&ContentID=1974006#Nutrition-Highlights
As you can see, it's an excellent source of some things, but not potassium.<<
You must have missed the 10,000 other citations online all listing a serving of firm tofu as having 305 mg. of potassium.

I did not say anything authoritatively!<<
Well, yeah, you not only said it as if you knew it was true, but you've wasted a lot of bandwidth expounding on your inaccuracies and failing to take responsibility for having disseminated false dietary information.

I didn't say I was a nutritionist. But that term is rather meaningless anyway.<<
That whooshing sound was an apt analogy flying over your head.

I believe I've seen you use it more times than I can count.
You go first. Cite the nutritional deficiencies in the OP's diet. That's the only thing this thread is about. You keep *demanding* that I document, but you never offer anything but ill founded personal beliefs.
I'm sure as heck not going to waste my time reading anything of yours *twice.*

So what?
I'm referring only to the OP's original post that started this discussion. On its own, it was entirely inoffensive.

I wouldn't either, if I were you.
