A defective metabolism doesn't mean not being able to have a
balanced diet - if I am reading you correctly. The challenge
is to find alternative nutrition in different types of food,
that's all. And it's not a hard challenge. There is no
reason why a diet can't be nutritionally balanced with
diabetes.


We haven't defined balance, nobody really has. I think it's preferable to use more precise language, like nutritionally adequate or even nutritient dense.

Balance is one of those words that means a hundred things to a hundred different people.
