I've been taking Vytorin for 3 months now. I was on Zocor and had a problem
with an allergic reaction (hives) at high (80mg) dosage. Vytorin contains
the same thing as Zocor but adds something that make the lower dosages more
effective. So far I haven't had any problems with kidney pain or similar
symptoms. I have noted some minimal confusion and memory problems over the
past couple of years that I'm going to investigate its relationship with the
statins. I figured it was just advancing age until someone mentioned that as
a side effect on this group.
I'll be getting a lipid panel done the Wednesday when I check in w/ my PCP.
I'll see how my numbers are going then.
I've been agressively cutting out fat and calories over the past 6 months so
things should be moving in the right direction.
If I'm still out-of-line I guess I'll have to give up my bacon & egg
breakfasts and BLT's w/ extra mayo for lunch. Wait a minute ... I already
did that, no wonder I'm so grouchy. =;)
But I am 30 pounds down over last year and below 200 for the first time in a
long while.
Maybe this diet thing IS working.
