Yes. That was my original point. I never expected to get that here in a
support group, but it is certain that the cause of the misunderstanding is
the difference between type one and type 2.

The insulin resistance DOES create an almost insane kind of hunger and it
does get better by low carbing. There is no amount of willpower that is
going to be able to conquer that sort of thing unless you deal with the IR
first. If you study the succes rates of the diet industry, you can see by
their huge failure rates, that it is a lot more than just a bit of will
power. It has absolutely nothing to do with putting down any professional
person, it has to do with real knowledge of a real problem.

By the way, the idea that insulin resistance is behind weight gain is
mentioned quite clearly in the book "Type 2 Diabetes, the first year" by
Gretchen Becker. I almost cried when I read that, having struggled for
years with weight issues and not understanding why it was so hard to do and
why I got so horribly hungry, and why some people could diet successfully
and others had such a hard time of it.

Eating low carb has helped with that a lot.
