Apparently you think that DM causes obesity instead of obese people being at great risk of DM.

A small group of people here are convinced that the only way to be an expert on T2 diabetes is having it; People who are no T2 diabetic are basically clueless and should keep quiet. For the majority of this group, those clueless also include medical professionals and (diabetic research) scientists. So don'take offense - just let go.

Thank you, Ceebee. I'm a medical professional, a Type I diabetic, a pumper, a daughter, neice, etc of Type II diabetics, wife of a diabetic, daughter-in-law of a diabetic, granddaughter of a diabetic. I'm not uniformed. All this, and not to mention, educated in diabetes education (because I have an interest in HELPING diabetics). But so many here would even further DISREGARD me because of my education. I work in surgery, and have counseled many diabetic patients who come in for surgery, because of their lack of education and out-of-control diabetes--I am truly, truly concerned. Some of the people on this newsgroup feel that they KNOW the truth because they listen to the other diabetics who post here, or because they have done a bit of research on the internet. Yet they are not trained in such a way as to really understand the medical facts that are presented here--anatomy, physiology, pathology, general health.

Just watch--just because I'm educated, I will be disregarded, despite my pursuit of additional knowledge in diabetes because I feel a burden to help those who are willing to learn (not to mention the personal experience I've had).

I just care, but now watch the slamming that will go on once I post this message...
