||| Despite the information presented here. The city, state and
||| federal
||| governments had no plans in place to deal with the situation
||| This information
||| was old when the video was made last year I believe due to
||| the reference
||| to last years storm. There should have been plans in place
to
||| handle a
||| situation such as this many years ago. The FDR, Truman,

||| and
||| GWB
||| administrations all dropped the ball in planning, along with
||| the
||| state and local

||| Baton
||| Rouge
||| put in nicely when he admited that he would wait for the
||| federal government
||| rather than impact the city budget.
|||
||| The national media is running around ignoring the many
||| private
||| and small
||| organization efforts. They want to know where are the
||| marines,
||| the federal
||| government (fema) and red cross can not move as quickly as
we
||| would like.
||| They also conviently ignore the fact that many
||| military/national
||| guard resources
||| are tied up doing rescue work in the flooded areas. It is
||| easier
||| to get fodder
||| for the national news by filming at the Superdome. The
||| Superdome
||| which
||| without the flooding would have likely been adequate, but
||| when
||| the flooding
||| started quickly becase a failure. Where was the local

The response has been organizing since before the storm hit.
Granted the type of response needed and the magnitude was
not understood. Much has been in place since before Monday.
Many resources have been occupied in aiding those the most
in need, those stranded by the flood. Those you see whining on
the news get the press because they are the most available. They
have needs and will be tended to as soon as those with greater
need are tended.
I was kind of sickened seeing a fat but otherwise healthy lady
with a
camera stuck in her face yelling because she had not ate in
5 days, that was 3 days after the storm struck. What did she do
to tend to her own short-term needs? She didn't care about those
in more need.
