Well, in my case, I just go to whoever will take my insurance. And here in
WA, that's not many people. I don't much care for my GP, but I haven't
found anyone else. I did find another GP that takes the insurance, but I
don't like the location and I never even got to see the GP. The office
staff and nurses didn't leave a good impression on me when I took my
daughter there for a shot, so never went back.
Endos seem even more hard to come by. None near me. I did find one in
Everett who really seems good.
If you have good insurance and have a wide variety of choices, then you
might want to ask around to find out who people like. Of course that would
be easier to do with the GP since less people see an Endo. When I moved to
NY, I found a good GP who close to where I lived. I asked him to refer me
to specialists, even though technically my insurance is such that I don't
need a referral. Everyone he recommended seemed pretty good.
