UPPER LIMITS OF MORPHINE
Dear Group,
I have been on Avinza 120/mgx5 per day for about 3 years. I just asked
my physician to increase my prescription to 6 per day. He replied that
i need to give him a letter requesting the reasons why i need to
increase my daily dosage and to keep a pain diarey.
My question is, are there any upper limits to the amount of Morphine
that can be prescribed. I have read of cases in which a patient with
Cancer was prescribed over 1500mg/Morphine per day.
Any information you can provide will be greatly appriciated.
I shoul add that i have been on pain meds for about 25 years. I work
and function well within society, never arrested and just last month I
was stopped for my first driving offense in 49 years of driving.
