Re: Rant - I'm PISSED

I hope everything works out OK. That was scary as hell Top. I can
imagine myself refusing to go to the hospital after a similar incident
because I would be hoping it was nothing and I'd end up dead because of
it.

It raises an interesting question too. What do you do if your spouse/SO
won't go to the doctor when something happens that indicates that they
might be in real danger? If someone really doesn't want to go I don't
think there's any way you could make them.

Thanks Juba. Now that she is in the hospital she will get the tests she
needs and if something happens she is there for immediate care.

We were in a similar situation recently. Eileen was not coherent and
could not intelligently respond to questions and the EMTs really didn't
give her much choice. She told them she didn't want to go but
thankfully the EMT tech said you are going. She didn't try to resist
and things moved along. One thing I know from personal experience you
can be placed in observation for 72 hours if medical authority believes
you pose a threat to yourself. How that applies to something other than
mental status I don't know.

Thanks to all that have responded favorably. For the one that
questioned my motive (Cane, I don't mind naming names) I've responded
to you and consider that a closed issue.
