Re: Saw the New PM
Personally, I'd look hard & fast for another doc. If he was "shocked" by
the amt. of meds you were on, there is no way he'll treat your pain
effecticvely.
Meds like Cymbalta have limited use. My nerve pain IS helped by it, but in
a limited way.
The meds like neurontin has been shown to be a hoax in terms of being useful
for chronic pain. Lyrica is its couson, so how can they say it's useful
when neurontin was only pushed cuz t5here were faked tests?
I'm so freakin sorry!

I don't know what to think. He was "*shocked*" by the amount of pain
medications I was on. He wants me to take a month off of work to go
through their 8 hour per day, five days a week therapy sessions of PT,
behavior modification, massage and trigger point therapy, etc.. He wants
to taper off the Fentanyl and Oxycodone and go the Cymbalta and Lyrica
route (along with some other "new" medications, but he's willing to keep
prescribing my current meds until I can take family leave (in 4 to 5
months), for the program but wants to start on the other drugs now. Part
of the therapy is a clinical psychologist and wants to taper me off the
Clonopine (says the Cymbalta will help with this).
There's probably a lot that I'm not remembering to put in the note. But
for a start, what do you think?
