Sorry for the top post...

Speaking of issues, I've got a weird one.

I was using Outlook Express (windows XP, all updates) as my
newsreader. As a side note I have Microsoft Office 2007 loaded and
all dictionaries in Excel/Word/Outook/Powerpoint are English - but
in Outlook Express its French???? Can that be changed? How?

I am currently doing a trial of agent 5.0 so maybe this moot, but
just thought it weird and wondered how to fix.

Go to Tools, Options, Spelling, Language

That's just it - all it gives me as an option is French (France)

Then you definitely don't have the English dictionary available. Perhaps
you downloaded your current copy of IE/OE from the wrong place.

If you download and install a later version of Internet Explorer, that
should include an update for OE as well.

Ah,so IE and OE are connected - good to know. I thought it pulled the
dictionary lang from the office apps and xp. Will give IE an update a
try just cause my curiosity is piqued now.

Decided to checkout MS's support site first. Found out they know
about Outlook Express 6 losing English, German and Spanish language
for spell check when Office 2007 is installed. Even had the question
asked about only French showin' up. Exactly my issue. Microsoft
says to use a third party spell check - really! They said downloading
Windows live mail would work, it does, but only for the e-mail
portion.

This is no biggie. Agent works dandy and I'll go ahead and buy the
damn thing for $30 in a month barring any unforseen probs. Spell
check in the Office 2007 apps works fine. Just a typical MS glitch in
Outlook Express. Didn't they do away with Express in Windows 7? I
stayed away from Vista on purpose. Will wait on 7 and let others find
the bugs first...

I'ma just sayin'...

Before you spend your money you might want to check out
MicroPlanet Gravity. I have no connection with it other than
using it and enjoying it. It has spell check and a host of other
easy to use features. I usually use a newsreader for about 6
months and then switch to something else just to check other
programs. So far I've been using Gravity well past that and don't
see myself switching any time soon. You can't beat the price
(free for noncommercial use) and it is still being developed.
There are several newsreaders around that were good programs but
the authors stopped developing the program for whatever reason.

Just my thoughts,
Top

Will give it a look. Thanks
