Some chronic pain folks seem to feel that the presence of the
tactile allodynia verifies RSD. It doesn't. RSD does, however,
carry pathophysiology that can perplex a physician more
accustomed to more specific symptom sets. And in the
meantime, while temporary conditions are causing permanent
effects, it is difficult for the RSD patient to convince the relevant
diagnosticians that a problem really exists. While others may
well be convinced by simple thermography. Which is absolutely
essential for RSD diagnosis.
Let me say it this way. If thermography has not been used in
the diagnostic process, effective diagnosis has not been made.

Yes, the abnormal sensation is part and parcel RSD symptoms.
