HepC is a MAIN! infection of your liver! DO NOT play with this if you
really believe you have an even small infection, people die every day
from
such stuff, not to scare you but doctors right now seem to be on there
freaking heals cuz of HC reform and there gawd damn greedy
''dontgiveashit'' drive, excuse...blah, GO NOW!!!

Oh, believe me, I'm not playing around with this. I've already seen a
gastroenterologist and he's sent me for more blood work (viral load,
genotype and one other) and an abdominal ultrasound (next Tuesday).
I'll
see him again on the 10th and see where we go from there. If it's
indicated
he'll probably do a liver biopsy and then we'll have to decide if and
when
to do the treatment (which, I've heard, is harder to take than cancer
chemotherapy).

cat,

a friend of mine just went thru that therapy for Hep C. now her son
(who also has it) is going thru it, too. she did VERY WELL, and her
son is, too.

you have my good thoughts/vibes/prayers.

gigglz

Ohmygawd! *THANK YOU* for posting that - all I've been hearing and
reading
are horror stories and that it would be *IMPOSSIBLE* for me to work while
being treated.

Hugs,

CatNipped

soooooo glad i could help! my friend caters for a living, and the
whole time she was in 'treatment', she was STILL catering! her son is
going to college. so you see honey, it is up to the individual.

((((cat))))

hugs back,
gigglz

Well gawd knows I have stubborn down pat - I *REFUSE* to let RSD keep me
from working and earning a living for both myself and my husband. Keeping a
roof over our heads and food on the table rates *FAR* above how much it
hurts to type and mouse all day with RSD flaring in my right arm and neck.
So I guess if I can out-stubborn RSD I can out-stubborn the treatment for
HepC.

The thing that really scared me, though... wasn't the stories or anecdotes
on the web - it was the gastroenterologist himself. You know how medical
personnel tell you, "now this is going to pinch just a bit" right before
they stick a 10 inch needle into your spine? Well this guy said up front,
"this treatment is BAD". Scared the bejeesus right out of me! ;>

Hugs,

CatNipped
