I had a huge gash in my thumb (a cat got caught in
miniblinds, and freaked out, needless to say, the miniblinds are gone,
never to return), you could see the bone in my thumb. I just cleaned
it out really good, used an antibiotic ointment I've had by
prescription, bandaged it up, and it healed up just fine.

SD (Annie) -- I'm sorry kitty got caught in the blinds & I'm even
sorrier that your thumb got caught in kitty. But I could just hear the
crackling thunder sound that must have been made from: Kitty +
Miniblinds + Struggle and I had to laugh.
When I had both my dog and cat (they died 8 yrs apart), sudden
chaos often occurred. Like once, when I was asleep on the bed with my
big dog (120 lbs at his prime), and Kitty suddenly decided to jump up
on the bed (clearly not aware that dog was lying down
on the other side of me). All in one storm of motion, Kitty jumps
up, lands on the bed, the sound & bounce of the bed being landed on
wakes dog and dog is enraged. Rowrr-ROwrr-ROWRR! he went and
then jumped up to chase Kitty off the bed.
Both of them ran ACROSS MY LEGS.
This happened in the dark. I just lied there while I felt a warm
sensation running down my leg -- Kitty had put three claw
punctures in my bare inner thigh. Ouch.
I lied there a few more moments, wanting just to go back to sleep, but
I knew that cats' nails have lots of bacteria, so I got up to get some
rubbing-alcohol......
Still -- I think pets are great.
Take care.
