Re: anyone know abt ribs/lung pain?

The words *I give up* have now come out of my
mouth. I too am very disapointed in Lynn because she
said in another post that she walked to the hospital to get
the read oout on a visit she went there for. Now she says
she cant walk because of a herinated disk... Care to raise
hands on who of us that are walking around with herinated disk or disks...
Sorry Lynn someone will have
to help you here on out. I tried...

Dear Lynn,

I don't mean to get on your case, especially if someone in an unread
portion of the thread has already asked this, but it's worth repeating :
what the hell are you doing going to the ER for a pain you have had for
months? And seeing them for an 8 or 9 pain? I don't get it one tiny bit.
Suppose all the doctors were tied up removing a bunion from somebody's
foot when you came in from being electrocuted. Nobody is giving you CPR
cause they're busy babysitting some drunk who broke his ankle from falling
off his bar stool. Nobody's around to zap you with the defibrillator
because they're tied up removing a cast from the arm of a kid that went
mosh pit diving (I think they still call it that) and nobody wanted to
catch him. The ER docs finally get through all the normal bullshit that
should have been handled in a doctor's office visit and it's your turn,
just in time to close your eyes and pull up the sheet. They slap a toe tag
on you and wheel you down to the morgue, where after lunch the slice you
open from crotch to shoulder, pulling out organs as they go. The medical
examiner fills out his report, listing the cause of death as
electrocution, but we know the real cause of death...stupidity. Stupidity,
tying up EMERGENCY response personnel, with stupid shit that belongs in a
doctors office or a bathroom with a good friend. I'm not addressing your
words quite directly, I am hoping you will get the point, but I'll be more
direct yet if it will help - a problem that lasts a couple days belongs in
your doctors office. If you have the time to wait and see, it's not an
emergency, make an appointment with your doctor. There is usually very
little doubt involved when it is an emergency and you certainly can't walk
3 block if you need an ER.
Stop wasting the resources of the Emergency Department with trivial
bullshit. If it's not life or death, call your doctor. I have a lot of
friends who are linemen, I know a lot about being electrocuted and doing
resuscitation in the field, and I would be mightily pissed if one of my
guys died because you were having a zit on your ass examined.
It's called an EMERGENCY ROOM for a reason. It's not an all night drug
store or clinic, though I'd bet your yellow pages has a listing of one of
each, within reach of that van of yours. It's just not enough of an
emergency to drive that long or that far, besides, by the time you went
all that way you could see your doctor.

Very disappointed in you, Lynn. I thought you were better people than
this.--og
