They were intended to direct people to posts that would be worth
reading. Some posters will mark people with 1 star, not based on what
they are saying, but because they don't like them. There is a woman
in several other groups with me, who has a "star stalker" (her
phrase). She rarely uses Google, but when she travels she sees it.
She actually thinks it's funny, as she perceives it as "owning"
someone, who searches out her name and marks her post "not
recommended".
