Re: HELP! Need Advice ASAP

Dear Doug,

I don't know how long it's been, but I know it was Jannessen that I called
about getting some bio-clusive covers and the lady on the phone was a real
brick. I almost told her where she could stick them, but I am considerably
more refined these days (ahem) I just went with bandaids and tape and
changed back to the tried and true oxycontin which I knew would not slip
off anywhere. Gotta tell you though, that lady was a piece of work...

Stay Well--og

Dear Cat,

Yea, you're ok if you put a big bandaid over it. The stickum on those
things is the pits. They were always falling off the couple times I
tried them, especially in the sweaty summertime. Don't use medical
tape, it's futile and you'll look like the mummy before you get it to
stick. Somebody passed along a little trick to make them stick better.
Before you apply the patch, get some duct tape and wrap it around your
hand with the sticky part facing out. Then pat down the spot you're
planning to put the patch on. The duct tape will pick up the oils and
all the dead skin cells.

Hang in there--og

Here is a number to call. The Company is Bioclusive Dressing.
1-800-526-7736.
They will tell you how to get these clear dressings that go over the
patch. They work great, even in water and sweating. If you have a
prescription
for Fentynal Patches(which you do),they will send them to you for free.
wish you the best dealing with your new problem.I have been dealing with
it
and many other pain problems for years. I have not worked due to all my
problems for almost 19 years!!!!!
Worrying about RSD will not help you!!!!!!I know !!!!
You should be happy you found a doctor to treat you in the beginning of
it.
Unfortunately, with all my other failed surgery and
Arthritis,Anthrofibrosis, etc,I found out a little too late. God Bless my
Doctor I found about 9 years ago. He understands and treats me
accordingly.

Have a pain free day as Possible!!!!!

Doug

I had to pull off my Fentanyl patch because I put it over a minute

(I probably scratched myself rubbing the oil off my skin) and it stung

crazy. I put it in another spot and it's not stinging now, but it
doesn't
feel like it's going to stick (and I was stupid enough to put it where
my
bra strap will probably rub it off). Is it OK to put a bandaid over the
patch to help keep it stuck on for the two days it needs to stay on?

BTW, the other spot is still stinging - I put a little allergy cream
over
it
and it's not helping. Any suggestions for taking the stinging away?
