No, but like the majority of those who think that, you probably
thought it was supposed to be based on the books(?) I recently had a
long beerless discussion with a good friend on this very subject (she
had just taken a college course on Sci-fi to fulfill some BS elective
requirement.) I can't recall how, but I knew the movie was only
"inspired by" long before it came out, so I just went with it. I
wouldn't call it a complete travesty (obviously YM DOES vary... :-)
At least they did base the plot on a crime mystery, which was the
theme of many of the short stories. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel
with a robot (ok, now it's technically "android") detective.

Oh, the pain... THE PAIN...
