Hi Everyone:
I often have serious insomnia due to multiple medical problems, among
them -- pain. As a result, I am often awake for days at a time. When my
mind or body can no longer stay awake, I fall asleep in an instant, yet
continue to do whatever I was in the middle of doing. Only one of the two
(mind or body) continues to function, while the other does not.
For example, my brother was visiting me one evening, and we were sitting
in the living-room talking. I had not been to sleep for three straight
days, and while we were talking, I fell asleep -- sitting upright and
holding a cup of soda. I looked like a statue. When he realized that I was
not responding, he shouted my name repeatedly. I awoke and asked him
what was wrong and why was he shouting and cussing at me......... (He
seriously thought that I had died.) :-)
I have other similar stories... but would rather hear yours --- Can we hear
them ?
Take care
M.
