I haven't tried melatonin but I tried Rozerem which is a melatonin receptor
something or other and that didn't help me sleep at all. Maybe I will just
pick up some melatonin at the health food store.

Get some Valerian root also while you're there (but don't let your cat(s)
sniff it - it's the same herbal family as catnip).

Thanks Top!!

Have you tried melatonin? I take that with my sleeping pill and that
normally works. I don't take it if I don't need it though. I'm taking the
5 mg tablets.

It happens that Deb Schuback formulated :

My new sleep med works really well but when my pain reaches a certain
level... no go. No sleep, no rest... And it's hard to explain to others
but there's a STEEP difference between not sleeping and not sleeping
with/because of pain. A HUGE difference.

Had a bad one myself. Been a bad week in general, so last night I
went to bed an hour earlier than usual, thinking I might actually
catch an extra hour or more... I woke up thinking the usual 4.5 - 5
hrs. had passed, but looking at the clock, it had only been 1.5!
Crap. I managed to stick it out for another couple, but was up for
good (with the pain) by 3 am.

Oh, the pain... THE PAIN...
--------------------------------------

{{{{{Doc}}}}} That's got to be horrid. I am so lucky that the Ambien
I'm taking for the fibromyalgia knocks me out completely - but I have
to take 1 at 10:00PM and another at 2:00AM. Like Debs said, getting
too little sleep only exacerbates the problem.

Here I sit knowing there will not be much sleep. My back hurts some

not too bad. Now my knees are the pain. I've taken my break through
med, percoset and my kadian but my knees don't seem to acknowledge
that. If I lay down that doesn't help. Sitting up isn't any different.
I don't know if the arthritus is affecting them and all the snow is
causing a flair up. If they still hurt like this Monday I'll have to
call one of my doctors but where do I start? I'm not sure my pain doc
will be able to offer any more help than my PC so I may as well start
with the PC.

Hope your night is better!
