Nobody *wants* to live pill-dependent for the rest of their lives, but
there are far worse things than being dependent on medications,
including some of the "alternative approaches". I'm not knocking
them, but we know very little about your specific injuries, and we're
not doctors here. Are you seeing just the one neurosurgeon (aside
from your primary care doc) or do you have a team of docs you're
working with? Are you working with any kind of pain management clinic
or specialist? They're your best first source for options, because
they should be familiar with your specific injuries. Once you've been
given specific diagnoses (if they can) and can tell us a little more
specifically what you're dealing with, we may be able to point you in
some directions to investigate. Until then, do what you need to to
get on with life as best you can; there are folks here to help you
through the process.
