Dear Lori,
I hope you're wearing you extra large set of balls right now. I have a
suggestion for you to put forward. Since you're state in a democratic
referendum, vote on and approved by the citizens of the state have declared
that patients who are terminal and can't be treated by any other means, now
have the right to seek physician assisted suicide, you demand to be given
enough morphine sulfate to end your suffering. It is currently a terminal
condition without pain care, which you will suffer from until your life
ends. So the state can either treat you and end your suffering in a way that
is upheld by the residents of the state, or they can treat you outside
guidelines, that were made up by some idiot in an office somewhere with no
medical training, which was done in secret without the knowledge or input of
the general public, because they knew they would never get it passed, so
they just didn't bother. Either way you demand treatment
I can think of half a dozen places to send it, all ending in .gov--og

Hi (((Og)))!
Thanks for the info! I've had a good cane for many yrs but am now
looking at walkers. I don't know if it's like this in other places
but I was able to get my wheelchair (which I rarely use) through the
Lion's Club FREE! It's nothin' fancy but I think I remember seeing
all kinds incl. motorized there...Free!! They may have a donation jar
or something cuz we do donate stuff incl $ to them as they do so many
great services for free. I just have to get used to the idea that the
RSD has (sadly) progressed to the next stage, that it's not a flare.
As for doggie woggie, (yech! lol, babytalk I don't do!), we narrowed
the training classes down to 2 good ones & she will be starting asap!
We have been through a plethora of collars!! The "dog Whisperer"
brand doesn't stay up behind her head as it should & she's ever-
changing/growing so we constantly had to readjust it. Tried a halter
(loop around nose) & tho it worked best for me she hated & spends most
of her time sliding on the ground in hopes of getting it off rather
than walking. After 2wks she still hated it tho it fit right & we
used it correctly. Used a harness but she pulls right through it.
Used a choker chain (I know how to use it correctly, but thanks! just
short jerks so it releases right away). Then we saw this guy w/a type
of harness that hooks the leash in front, not on the dogs' back, & so
we tried it & bingo, worked & works great!!! As long as u control the
head, u have control of the animal be it dog, horse or other. (I
learned that from training my horses...wahhh, I miss them soooo much!
Anyway, also heard the Dog Whisperer say that...about controlling the
head. Kinda like life in general, hey??!! <eg>!) I take turns using
the harness one wk & then the choker chain (w/o the "pinchy" thingies
<bg>) so she doesn't get used to one & carry on trying to get out of
it. We have a sort of automatic lengthening leash which
retracts...love it! Tho when I walk her I need to keep her on a short
leash for more control till we get to the park where I can let her go
& 20 dogs or so somedays running & playing w/0 leashes on the beach &
in the lake is a blast!!! Needless to say I am letting Howie, who's
working a split shift is now the one who gets to take her to the lake
(6 or so blocks from our house). I am finally going to break down &
get a car & renew my driver's license. I can still take my long
walks in the park w/the river cuz it's basically right behind our
house. It's a great park, really large & long...meanders thru the
whole town & is very woodsy! But how can I enjoy it if I can't
walk??!!! I mean, I do enjoy just looking out our back & kitchen
windows at it & we get tons of cool waterbirds & eagles hanging out
plus the deer are in our yard daily lately (just a couple but I get to
see spotted fawns now & then!!) Boy, I sure am yacky so early! I
woke up at 3:30 & then 4:30 & then just got up at 5! Had a bad pain
nite & my 1st disappointing Dr. appt. sigh.
I will do a separate post on it cuz I was in shock when my doc told me
"You're on a fairly high dose & I can't give u more because "THEY
PASSED THAT DAMNED PROPOSAL IN WA. STATE TO LIMIT DOSES OF ALL PAIN
MEDS TO 120MG MORPHINE OR EQUAL & YOU'RE ALREADY 60MG OVER THE
LIMIT!!!!!!!" I'm in sad shock. Damn damn damn damn how the f***
could they do that while it's still in court being challenged by PRN
( PainReliefNetwork.org )???!!!! ARGHHHHH!!!! I said "that's so
wrong" & my doc agreed, saying how he fought it last yr as he was head
of an org. of Drs. overseeing the laws governing drugs (or something,
lol, sorry, need more coffee!!! Names have been changed to protect my
forgetful mind!?) Anyway, they fought it but those jerks (mostly the ?
DEA) somehow got that sucker through according to my doc. I'm
crushed!!! It's not over of course, it's just such a wrong law that
it simply must be gotten rid of!!!! Anyway, my doc offered me blocks,
a shot of cortisone & Neurontin (to which I can't take...gained 40lbs
in 2wks & got suicidal & worse from it...he had forgotten my list of
allergies) so he also said as far as the injury from the fall (aside
from the RSD), he wants me to see my pcp doc to deal w/it. I'm sorely
disappointed as w/ my other knee injury from one of the other bad
falls I took he ordered an MRI & wa concerned about me having torn the
meniscus but w/this injury I feel something IS wrong...I didn't feel
that way w/the other one. Soooo, I'm gonna call him I think, after I
cool down, & have him answer some ?? he didn't have time for in that
bad appt. I'm so sad cuz this is the 1st disagreement I've had w/him,
or rather about him. He was in a really big hurry...had to go to a
meeting he was speaking at & I think I had 5min. (at $125 an appt.,
not going thru insurance) w/him!!
Ah well, I was gonna do a different post about the new really bad law
but we'll see as I think I just covered it all!
Later,
xoxox

Dear Lori,
I may have mentioned this before, if I did I guess I just have to pound it
in, get yourself a cane or a walker. They come in all sorts of disguises
these days. The canes of course can be anything with an ornamental head in
it and can contain anything from a sword to a pint of good bourbon.
Walkers
are a little more bulky, but have more support, but they also have some
that
convert in to a seat, so you can pitch a chair any place.
Falls seem to come in groups, as you are finding out. Get something you
can
grab on to, or at least slow yourself, on the way down. Do it. Do it now.
And train that dog. Get him a choke collar (I hate that name, it doesn't
choke the dog unless you put it on wrong. Looking at the dog from the
front,
the chain should make a letter "P". If it's a "b" or a "q" it's backwards.
Never pull it tight, give it a quick jerk and it should slack up around
the
neck right away. It not to choke them, it's to get their attention when
they
would rather play.) and a +10 foot leash. Leather is the best cause it
stretches when you jerk it. Heel is a must command as is stop/sit. Back up
is good one too.
If only you could teach them to do the laundry.
They do the dishes quite well though--og

Hi there,
I absofinglutely cannot believe this...I fell AGAIN....Real Hard/bad,
at least it was the other knee!!!! This is what, my 4th nasty fall in
less than 2months??!! The RSD has spread somewhat & progressed to the
weakness stage. Anyway, back to it now. I was moving away from
oncoming playing dogs & managed to slip or something on the only piece
of concrete around for quite a distance!!! I think it was just this
little square cover for something like pipes or whatever underneath
it. It didn't move or wobble or anything, just sat there waiting for
me. :scream::headpound:
This time tho I definitely DiD damage to my knee. Not only did I
leave a trail of blood but at least a dozen of the wonderful dog ppl
were there to help me up as I can't bend it nor really bear much
weight on it. I called Howie, poor guy my husb. dear of 25yrs) who's
off wrk & on antibiotics due to an upper resp. inf. sigh.
So he came & saved me , poor guy!!!
I had fortunately already set up an appt. in Sea. (2hrs. away)w/my
great PainDoc so now I have another thing to add to the list of stuff
to talk about!!! I originally was going to tell him about the new
weakness in both legs & the increase in the RSD pain in both feet w/
the r. one now as bad as the originator l. ft.
I am going to ask him to switch my morphine to something stronger if
possible...wish me luck!!! I actually can't wear the patch due to
adhesive allergy/skin breakout/down so not quite sure what to ask
for. I hate the thought of asking for oxycontin/oxycodone but I will
see what he suggests 1st so I won't sound too pushy. I honestly don't
care what it is as long as it is stronger than the 180mg dose msContin
I've been on for the last 4mos. He was always really good about
bumping my dose up to a working dose so I pray he continues!!!
Anyhow, thank you all for letting me vent...(lol, like u had a
choice??!) I'm soooo glad u r all here for all of us to be able to do
that!
Kindly,
Lori
ps-If the megalomaniac troll happens to answer this (as I expect),
just ignore. Troll patrol!
