Yeah my doctor move got screwed up and I'm looking at 2 weeks of hell,
triple UGH!!!
Wow, that sucks. :-(
Is there no other alternative?
I can't see how this got so screwed up trying to see a different pain
doctor but like I said in the above post the new doctor says it takes up
to
8 weeks at times to make an appointment, it's really screwed up here in
Va,
there are 200 patients to every pain doc I would expect, it's crazy that's
why I ask a month ago or so about states with good pain care, I just
missed
it by 6 months :(....I really wonder how many old people have died over
this crap? or people like me severly weakened and left out of the loop to
just die? it is still Bushes state I forget and may take a year before any
reform get done on this front, like I said to everyone, I luv you all or I
wouldn't put up with your crap :) I'm a damned lier at times also :) wish
me
luck, I'm really gonna need it dealing with the "nippleheads" LOL down
here
:)...Joe
want to present yourself at a hospital asking for Detox because then
you will get the "junkie" brand on your forehead. It really isn't
socially acceptable to walk around with a giant J on one's forehead.
I don't know what the old Doc did to piss you off or vice versea, but
try getting another appointment from them for refills until you can
see the new Doc. Otherwise start calling around to see if somebody
else will see you until you get into the Dr of your choice.
As I've told you before, I have no real problems getting Pain
Management Treatment in the Tidewater area of Virginia. I go to a
pretty large clinic that I suspect could/would get you in far quicker
then 8-weeks. Yes you have to make a trip, but sometimes it is better
to take the trip then never leave the farm.
As to Detoxing off things like Oxycontin, most clinics will make you
got cold turkey not do a taper. They'll give you some other drugs for
nausea, diarrhea, agitation and maybe if your really, really lucky a
muscle relaxer for cramps, but that is about it. The majority of your
stay will focus around you having to listen to people tell you how
weak & evil you are for using drugs. If you tell them it is for pain,
they'll just try to convince you that is your excuse. If you have to
discontinue Opiate medications and are not on some earth shattering
dosage it is far better to do it in the comfort of your own home.
There are several OTC products that can help you through the worst of
the physical part which normally is only about 3-days.
Wise words, already did what you suggest, went back to m old pain doc
quickly as possible, all I wanted to do was fix my hands quickly and that
turned into a huge nightmare to say the least, many thanks Z...Joe
