Dear Melissa,
By all means get a copy of whatever reports you got coming. What studies
show and what the doctor and radiologist call "normal" are almost never the
same thing. They expect to find some spinal defects, and classify many as a
normal study.
Sure, lots of people walk around with blown disks and never suffer any pain
from them at all, the lucky bastards. But when there's something they
classify as insignificant and no other detectable source of pain, they are
foolish to ignore it. And they do, all the time.
That's how people end up doing years of physical therapy, suffering through
it in pain, all the while doing more damage to themselves. Waiting until
it's "significant" enough to do something about can delay intervention, and
make a treatable problem permanent. Nothing will piss you off more than
finding that out after it's too late. It should be malpractice, but they
call it conservative treatment.
Don't get screwed, get hard copies of all your studies. I'm not great at
interpreting them, but I can pick through them ok, most of the time. There
are people here who are better at it, and won't sugar coat it for your
insurance company.
So by all means, post that puppy when you get it, regardless of what your
doctor may tell you--og

Dear Melissa,
Well said. It's good to see you still hanging with us.
Keep in touch--og
Thanks, OG.. Being an outspoken, opinionated and stubborn liberal has
its perks I guess. :P
I'm hanging.. I'm waiting for a doctor's report on my spine before I
post about it.. hopefully will be soon.
I wish they had total spine replacements..

Hey, I was just doing a search on Seratonin Syndrome, and thought you
might want to take a look. I can't recall all of what your symptoms
are, but it's worth taking a look at this.
Flexeril in combination with certain drugs carries a risk of Seratonin
Syndrome. When I looked at this page (pasted below), Lithium was on
the list of drugs. The symptoms sound awful but if this is what
you're dealing with, at least you'll know what it is. There's no
doubt in my mind that all of your meds are somehow interacting with
each other and causing your discomfort.. I truly hope you'll find some
peace soon.
p.s. I do know what hypomania is.. I went through it when I was put on
Topamax and had an adverse reaction to it. It's a horrible place to
be. I understand. I just think that if Lithium and/or Lamictal alone
aren't helping your mania, there are other alternatives to treating it
rather than combining those two drugs. I wasn't trying to attack you,
I'm just worried and I know how psychiatrists *love* to over-
prescribe.

p.s.s. Don't let the assholes get you down.. we know you're not a
troll. Don't leave the group on account of a couple of judgemental
jerks who can't have the decency to at least try to help you. They're
not worth it. Not to mention it's NO ONE'S business how you or anyone
pays for medication/s. We all have our struggles, and if people just
had a little (or some at all) compassion, we'd all be better off.
Peace, Melissa- Hide quoted text -
