tom is a usenet 'fixture' and makes periodic forays into any number of
'groups - frequently employing crossposts to as many as 5 or 6 groups -
using a logic all his own as to why he will select any particular set
for his crosspostings.

while i have responded to his latest set of posts, it was only to give
correct information on the subject he wrote about, and where he was
making medically incorrect suggestions.

the other replies were to his anti-gay, homophobic slurs that i
personally find objectionable and made the choice to not let slide. for
those bigoted messages i make the decision that an objection needs to be
made, even though it isn't going to change what he is.

that does not however mean that it will likely have any effect - he is
what he is.

at times, it is possible to set a filter so that you won't have to read
him - other times, like it is currently, he uses several different email
addy's which means more than on filter is needed.

please know that it is unlikely in the extreme that you will have any
positive effect on his messages - his assumes that anyone objecting is
out to get him and becomes quite virulent in reply.

try to just ignore him - don't let tom - or any of us who do respond to
him take your time or energy -

Ankylosing Spondylitis and everything else under the sun, the only
treatment I am currently receiving is opiates.

I have a truly valid reason for belonging, and posting to a newsgroup,
this one in particular. I have very limited time in which to receive
the information that can be garnered here. I find it increasingly
annoying that this "person", "tom", or whatever he wants to call
himself, just wants to waste my time and that of others- by posting
worthless nonsense.

Of course, I assume that he feels his posting is worthwhile to
someone. In effect, his posting could have the same impact if he used
the same to and from email address on everything he wishes to send to
this newsgroup. (sending it to himself) I am sure that "tom" could
even find a way to fight with the "person" he is sending his posts to
that way as well. I am sure that it would be just as fulfilling to
him, and the rest of us would find it more enjoyable.

I further wasted my time by actually looking at the "tinyurl"
links"tom" uses as a signature. I found it to be more of the same
nonsensical ranting he continues to waste my time, and others',
posting. We don't have to think hard or venture much with a guess as
to what really is "tiny" in "tom"'s life.

"tom", I will ask you nicely, just once, to please stop with the
absolutely annoying rants that you seem to have to continue to engage
in. Just reading the responses from others in regards to your postings
ensures that I am not alone in my thoughts. No one else enjoys your
posts, or even finds them slightly useful. The only purpose in posting
these is to get someone to react so that you can fight with them.

Don't you have anything better to do with your time?
