sorry that I seem so impolite.
I have tried unsuccessfully to do searchs for the group. I have nothing
showing that says "search" or "old topic". I have a very old computer with
windows 98; maybe that's why.
I did try askapatient and got nothing on Opana. I'd much rather get info
from actual users of a med than from some "official site"
I really do appreciate all I have received but sure would like to hear
from an actual user.

typing in caps because I have heard from NO_ONE who's tried it and being
the group's guinea pig for it doesn't exactly thrill me.
I'm supposed to get it Friday or sat.

BTW, Abby,
There are SEVENTEEN responses to your "Opana?" post. I don't know how
you are set up to read this group but if you look more carefully,
there's a column (depending on your newsreader or ?? I guess) to the
right of the posts which lists "active topics" & "older topics" or
something similar.

Well, Abby,
I can't speak for anyone else, but I can give a little bit of insight
into Opana, since I did take it for a month. It left me pretty out-of-
it, and didn't do too much for the pain-at least not as much as MS
Contin, which my doctor was trying to avoid increasing the amount of
which I was taking. And, I PAID full price for it! ($800-which was
more than my monthly SSA and SSI checks, combined! Maybe, with that
kind of investment, I was expecting too much...but, after another
month (when he prescribed Avinza, and it was rejected), he gave me one
more MS contin, which has worked well, until recently. I don't think
I'll get a larger amount, soon, but I may be able to try a different
BT med. Since he doesn't like prescribing long-acting oxy's and I
don't take well to fentanyl patches or methadone, there's not much
that we agree on, and is covered by my insurance.
But-you're going to hear this a LOT- that's just me, and Opana may
work very well on you. If it's covered by your insurance, or you can
afford it, you probably should try it. Maybe your doctor will let you
have a 2-week supply (which he will change or rewrite at the end of
the time, depending on how you react to it).
