I am about beat right now so I'll make it short and sweet- No duragesic and
heat. It can be causing all your issues from medication dumping. No joke.
They even say no fentanyl patch with a fever so you could be dumping the 3
days worth in to you at one shot.
Probably not the issue, you being a nurse, but I had to get it out just in
case you may be killing yourself.

First post here, I just have a few questions. I am a Nurse first
off, So I am pretty well informed with the usual stuff. BUT I am
having the hardest time with nausea. My new pain doc won't prescribe
Phenergan because they say itr decreases the threshold for
seizures...Also elavil, wellbutrin and several other meds. I have
never heard of this an have literally given 1000's of doses over 20 or
so years. Anyway that leaves vistaril, which they only prescribe 30
pills(Ordered every 6 hrs) you can do the math. I only take it when it
is a "have to" situation and like this month, I don't go back till the
5th and I have none and I only took when vomiting was eminent. Anyway,
The other alternative was zofran which only allowed 15 a month by the
insurance last time I checked, and nothing else was offered. Oh, And
all opiates cause nausea. Some worse than others, so changing meds is
a waste of time. I HAVE to deal with the nausea.
I am on duragesic, Which will probabaly have to be increased(25
now) on the 5th and I am freaked at nothing to help with the dosage
effectively doubled. Any suggestions?
Also, for folks with fibromyalgia....I have a problem that I
don't see on any web sites as a symptom. Does hot baths make you sick?
It helps with pain,but I have almost passed out from them on several
occasions. I can't tolerated cold and it causes pain, but hot makes my
heart race and me weak. I know this last is a little off topic for
pain-Maybe- but I need to ask other fibro pts.
