Traditionally, the idea of insurance was to spread the costs of paying
for the sick.
Supply and demand at work. A simple necessary market correction. Now
we are saying it is OK to die. How long will we allow greed to
influence our healthcare policies?
I never advocated forcing an individual to die. I suggested that for a
free market scheme to really work insurance companies must be free to
set coverage exclusions in their policies.
An individual who wants to die is off topic.
Like I said, if we go down that road the insurance companies will
eventually find a way to deny coverage to almost everyone: Alcohol,
cigarettes, drugs, no seat belts, no helmet, no money, war veteran,
traveled abroad.... (they will add more as the need arises)
