My pain is nerve pain. It's all contained inside my scalp, mostly in
the facial area, with some headache pain as well. My body isn't
involved unless I'm under the influence of Dilaudid, which I avoid
like the plague due to the hassle involved in getting it...it's my
last resource breakthrough drug and I get it at the ER.

I don't look sick. I just have to live in a bat cave and watch the TV
with captioning on because I can't stand normal volume and wear
sunglasses in the store because of the fluorescent lights.

That doesn't negate the pain....it just makes it a lot harder to
convince already prejudiced doctors that I have a legitimate need for
pain medications.

Speaking of wearing sunglasses Trish... I have discovered that when I
wear sunglasses when driving in the daytime that it seems to help
prevent panic attacks for me. Up until recently, driving has often
been the trigger for my panic attacks, and I think it can be set off
by the blinking of sunlight through the trees while driving down
country roads. Wearing the prescription sunglasses seem to have
greatly help in the prevention of such nerve attacks. I don't fully
understand the connection, but somehow driving on sunny days have
often set off panic attacks for me- along with dealing with my pain.
Maybe someday it will all make sense to me.
