Re: IS THIS LEGAL?? [Important Drug Test Question!]

yeah....

yes...they know the laws

apparently each drug testing place...has different "rules"...

mine did NOT want to see the bottles..which is why the doc (from the testing
place..not the employer btw)...called for the pharmacy info which is
obviously called to verify that indeed I had a valid script

tho I surely don't blame you...or anyone..for becoming negative and feel we
are being mistreated...

live and learn

now you get to decide which job fits YOUR needs!!!

again...good luck ..and glad you got this message before bedtime so you can
sleep more easily

Thanks for the great advise. This is sooo true OG. Nobody wants to
fight any more. So many people have given up on these things without a
fight.

Well, guess what happen at the very moment I posted the header post to
this thread?? - As soon as I pressed ENTER to post this, the telephone
rang. It was the lady from Company X calling about my drug test. Man,
you wanna talk about a lack of communication! Somehow the lady at the
drug testing place had told the HR lady at company X that I claimed
the tests was positive for meds but I didn't bring in any proof! I
said, uh no.... thats not what happened. I stayed friendly, and to my
surprise the HR lady told me that all I need to do was bring in my
prescription bottles to her. By this time I was ready to back out
fully. I told her that I was having second thoughts about working
there and that I really felt uncomfortable with my employer knowing
about my exact medication. To my SHOCK she got real nice and laughed
and advised me "NO, we respect your personal business. We don't need
to see the bottles. It's just the drug testing place that needs to see
the bottles so they can check the dates on them"- Next she apologized
and I told her how I was very concerned about how things had paned
out, and she told me she understood and that their company in NO WAY
was going to hold my prescriptions against me. In other words, I'm
still hired in at two places and have to decide which place to go.....
That is AFTER I show my bottles to the urine collection site. What a
relief.... I still don't know what in hell that woman was thinking
when she told me that nobody could contact my doctor, see my bottles
etc.... It seems somebody suddenly got legal on me (in a good way!)
err- they read the law I guess. haha

So, in the end things are now better. Now I just got to decide which
job to take. It's a tough choice, but I still get some creeps about
Company X- despite the fact they pay better and (important) have great
health insurance.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for all the advise gang. Sometimes I
really wonder who these people are that run some of these urine
collection sites for MedTox etc...- like the kind that are NOT part of
a hospital. The place I was sent too looked like a discount cigarette
market. lol It was very unprofessional, and false advise was gave to
me. In the end it seems Company X is more up on the laws than the
nutty drug testing place was. I just can not figure how on earth such
a place can stay in business like that. I can not be the only person
to run into this problem with them. At least, I feel there are likely
others out there.

Anyway, all is better for the moment. I'll keep you advise if any new
snags pop up.

Your all a great bunch of folks. And, a big thanks to OG! ;)
