Please take my advice and get this book..
it may be available at your local library if you don't want to buy it.
It's called Full Catastrophe Living by John Kabat-Zinn Ph.D
This book will change your life. I promise.
This is not spam...I'm not selling anything..and I have nothing to
gain by you getting this book other than know I helped someone.
this book helped me soo much that people noticed just by looking at
me.
It's about "Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress,
Pain and Illness".
I know it sounds weird and I was very skeptical. but if you've felt
like you are at the end of the rope like I was....You will try
anything. We go through meds and injections and everything else...why
not read a book.
The author John Zinn holds stress reduction courses at the world
renowned Omega Institute here in Upstate N.Y.
Maybe some of you have heard of Omega.
http://www.eomega.org/
Mr. Zinn is on the welcome page.
The book focuses on the stress reduction clinic at U.Mass Medical
Center.
If you have stress...this can remove it completely.
If you have pain...it will not remove it (sorry).
but it will teach you (how to tech yourself) how to deal with it. And
bring quality back into your life.
One story sticks out about a man who showed up at the clinic with
unbearable chronic pain. He could barely move. He had no quality of
life. He was suicidal and felt as is if life was over.
By the time the course was over (4-6 weeks I think) He was
smiling..moving better...and looked forward to every day of his life.
his pain was not gone, but he was able to cope with it and live a
happy fulfilling life.
The teachings include mindfulness meditation & yoga.
Like I said, it may sound crazy. Even the thought of reading a book
can help you with your pain sounds crazy.
But trust me, You will thank me .
Please, please read the book.
There is no scam, no money need except for the price of the book if
it's not in your library. I paid $13.95 for it and it is priceless to
me.
I wish I could afford it, I would buy a copy for all of you.
Vin.
my cp is heavily impacted by stress as is my feelings at any given time,
so if this book helps me to control my stress levels, it will also quite
certainly have benefits to offer my pain levels too. it is so hard to
seem to find the time to open a book as I guess many like me feel we
don't have the time or energy to physically holding a book, focussing
through bifocals, turning pages and concentrating, but it really sounds
like the wisdom garnered ..or discovered (within) is worth the effort.
certainly your not selling anything , just recommending a good book, no
problem.
I promise it will help you.
I'm not a big reader or have the time to read, so I forced myself to
read it. And I was glad I did.
When we have pain and or stress in our lives we become disconnected.
This book teaches how to get the connection back in our lives.
By connection I mean Body, Mind & Spirit.
I hope you read it, I'm excited for you.
Vin.
