valuable to add but I tend to just keep my mouth shut. I don't have
the energy to keep myself really busy so that I don't think about it.

I think you answered yourself the best. "I love to come here & chat &
read what everyone says. I love to leave feedback when I have

to negate the 1st part, so ignore the Second Part "keep...shut..?."

My friend & former house-mate & I used to have our house open as a
"Safe House" for battered women. This was a looong time ago (25yrs
ago). Fortunately for me I was no longer sharing the house w/
Marilyn...I had met my soul-mate husb. & moved away. Marilyn & I
always spoke on New Year's day. Jan. 2nd rolled in, I got a call from
another of my friends telling me that Marilyn paid w/her life for
Breaking Rules of Safe House (never take in friend or relative...refer
to a safer safe house as the spouse can usually find the friend or
relative). sigh. sorry this is so wordy but it's important & can
save a life! So, Marilyn took in her younger sister & 6wk old baby as
they were leaving the abusive husb. because not only did he beat
Joanne nearly to death & often, he also beat the baby & threw a Queen
Anne chair at her (a 6 week old baby...!!!). Joanne did the right
thing to leave, just went to the wrong place for safety. So, next day
Abuser shows up at Marilyn's, tries to reconcile, didn't work so he
pulled out a shotgun, murdered the baby in Joanne's arms 1st,
Marilyn's boyfriend 2nd, Marilyn 3rd, Joanne 4th. He then went
searching for Marilyn's 7yr old daughter who, thankfully was playing
at a friends' many blocks away. Since he couldn't find her he finally
killed himself right there. Unfortunately, Marilyn's 7yr old found
them all.

Again I apologize for the graphic horror of it all but that's what it
is. For AnyOne in an Abusive situation, please leave & go to a Really
Safe Place cuz I Care!!!

Every year around Thanksgiving I also start to get sad. I burst out
crying out of the blue. I am a musician but can't get through a song w/
o breaking down. It Is getting less intense w/time (25yrs here
too!). I didn't "see" it tho, that makes a huge difference.
But, here's what I do to distract...maybe something will help you get
through a rough day, hour, minute.
Watch a lot of Marx Brothers movies, don't watch the news. Light a
lot of white candles. I use moist heat rice bags on my shoulders/neck
area to help relax. If you do Yoga or Tai Chi or meditation or
prayer...do whatever works! It has taken TIME ...but it DOES GET
BETTER/EASIER. Be Very Good To Yourself. Come here or find a group or
a person to talk to when it gets rough.
Sorry, that's all I can think of for now. Sorry it was so graphic but
if it saves a life?!!! Apologies to all for the pain of reading
this.
