I hate to bring this up, it is a difficult thing to speak of but at times
it needs to be done.
This season has the highest rate of suicide of the year. That seems odd
as most think of the time spent with family, joy of gift giving, being
with others, throwing Christmas eggs, whatever. For some that is not
reality some though. For some the stress is tremendous. For some that feel
alone they feel even more alone. If they can't do what they feel is
appropriate stress goes up. If they have to spend the holiday away from
home stress goes up. There are so many factors that can cause stress and
suicide rates to climb they could not be listed here.
There reason I bring this subject up is to ask you to take a moment to
think of people you know and their situation. Don't rush them to the
emergency room but don't ignor them either. Do something! Ask advice from
your pastor your doctor or your guru.

Hi,
here's a tip.
do something to help somebody that needs help.
it can really lift their load and lessen their depression.
like I'm "being santa" to a divorced mom with 2 kids, she was out of work for 6 weeks recently and is just getting caught up, has a history of bipolar disorder, suicide attempts... doesn't make a lot to start with, the kids's father doesn't pay child support... hasn't for years (it's only 100$/month and he still doesn't pay).
so I'm Santa... got the kids christmas list and they'll get it...
from Mom...
the kids are old enough to be past "santa clause" but not old enough to really understand the economics of trying to raise 2 kids on not enough money.
but they'll have "christmas".
mom gets to keep her dignity (and she gets a christmas gift too).
my fiance, a grade school teacher, gets an adult "angel" from her churches angel tree... she always picks an adult figuring the kids are in more demand... gets them a nice outfit, and tucks a $20 in the pocket.
feels real good to do good :-}
