Top, I have some memory issues too. It scares me at times and those
times are happening more and more frequently. I have gotten used to it
at home but it's a huge fear at work. Now I make lots of notes. I think
that a large part of it is caused by the really really bad reaction I
had to gabapentin plus the huge sleep deficit I have been running for
several years... not to mention what plain old pain will do. I have been
working on not letting my poor memory bug me but that's a tough one, a
very very tough one.

Dear Mike,

I'm not sure about his medical training, but he's been here since I was a
kidd (get it? old goat/kidd?). So he's got a lot of what's been read in
here and seems to retain lots of it, as well as reading a lot of the
actual real medical sites, like the AMA's. I just find Lancet and such a
little too dry for my reading tastes.
He's got opinions too, but we all do. As long as we can show some facts
behind it and keep it as discussion, it works. Some folks can't stand him,
but even when I've disagreed with him, I found him to be pretty well
informed, and a good guy, usually with decent advice.

Just my 2 cents--og

Two things, I'm anxcious for him to have time to be back in the group to
repsond. Not to the former wars and such, they don't interest me. My
memoery of him being being a SSG Medic interest me only because I question
my memory on a serious level and I want to know if I remember that of him
or someone else. Second, did he ever use a different name in the group?

When you were both starting out, he had pretty much marginalized
himself. He has several other groups he's involved in-retired
military, guns, motorcycles. I don't think he was trying to hide his
identity-he even signed his first 'Wolf'' post with his old nym. It
wasn't too hard to figure out-but, if you didn't know him, you may
have missed his return post. Oh, well...does ZombyWoof mean anything
to you? If not, don't worry-he wasn't here all that much, them, and
only comes back when he sees something of interest. He always ties to
sound 'witty'-his idea of intelligence, I'd guess. So, when he starts
to debate a subject, he makes sure he knows more about it than anyone
else here-or can sound like he does. I was told that, a while back,
he was posting to ADH, and everyone thought he was a doctor! I looked
through the archives, but he must have either removed those posts, or
used yet another nym.

Debs, I understand how you can think you're losing your memory, in a
gaba (neurontin) haze. It removed my power of speech. Top-I don;t
think Wolfie (ZW, as we called him them) was ever that specific,
although he once mentioned a POW camp.

Never thought I'd be a Wolf historian.
