Sorry to hear about your problems. I am in a similar place as well. An
"unspecified" connective tissue/autoimmune disorder, close to Lupus,
and getting closer by the day.
For the pain part, have you seen a rheumatologist yet?
Also, on your blood test results, have you had your CPK (also called
just CK or even 'creatine phosphokinase') checked? It's a good
indicator of how much muscle inflammation and/or damage is happening.
My doctor and I find it very helpful to keep a tab on where my
"actual" inflammation level is compared to my perceived pain level.
Good luck, hope you feel better soon! If you know any of the numbers
on your labs, I'd be interested to hear if they're similar to mine at
all -- since as you know this type of disease is really confusing.
