Dear Blinded,
Again you misunderstand. You were plenty polite, very nice in telling my me
political views are ignorant and belong elsewhere. I will attempt the points
once again, forgetting everyone else found some bit of humor in it.
1. SUBJECT- BUSH'S COLONOSCOPY: OT POLITICAL COMMENTS. Even if you were
unaware OT denotes an off topic post, it tells you exactly what was there
before you opened it. If you are so enamored with my politics (which I felt
the post had less to do with than the presidential ass) do you really want
to read my political sarcasm? There was more warning there about the subject
matter than anyone uses, yet there's plenty of serious political commentary
flying about without objection. Disagreement and discussion yes, but no
first amendment suggestions on time and place.
2. MORE INSULTING- in a deliberate attempt I always try to make not to step
on any toes or hurt any feelings: APOLOGIES TO ANY PRO BUSH FOLKS OUT THERE
(BOTH OF YOU), BUT THE JOKE WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO RESIST : )
I apologized for a joke, that I put in writing was a joke, before I finished
the joke.. I even threw in a smiley face. Everything but the rimshot from a
drummer (Dah dumm dumm) and The Tonight Show Band and David Letterman's
group were busy and unavailable at the time.
3. YOUR RESPONSES- Polite. Very nice. Allow me to quote some excerpts:
" I read what you post and am very appreciative for the information..."
" I tend to avoid all of your posts, as a result of these
[political]postings..."
So you read what I post and appreciate the info. Very polite, but tricky
to do, if you avoid reading all my posts. And I do so much political
writing. If you refer to my advocating about the situation we find ourselves
constantly trapped in, feel free to roll over and give up and accept things
as they are. Of course, if you think its a fair situation, you aren't
reading anyone else's posts, either.
"The tone and nature of your political postings disturbs me worse than your
other valuable posts benefit me."
It's hard to know how to respond to this, since you read what I post but
avoid reading all of my posts...
"I believe that others feel the same way (although I have no way of knowing
this) but do not want to broach the subject with you.
But you did broach the subject, very politely. It seems rather simple to
know how others feel. Try reading THEIR posts and responses.
" Please find another venue for your political opinions."
This was what they call a joke. It's intended to invoke a humor response
in human beings, and there's no place more appropriate for such a
distraction than in a group full of people suffering.
As far as other "political opinions", the majority deal with how the
political structure and medical field deal with patients suffering from
chronic pain and the relevance of such to the chronic pain community.
Dissenting views are always seem welcome, though they may be disagreed with,
but when the subject is about chronic pain, what venue would you suggest,
alt.girl.cookies? Even if there was an alt.pain.politics group anything
there would be just as relevant in here.
Perhaps instead of reading less and avoiding the posts, you should actually
read them, carefully, maybe even the ones that are defined as jokes...
Politely--og

Geeez,
I thought I was rather polite in my statement. I tried to word it to not
offend, but guess I failed

Dear Blinded,
The more I thought about this, you can get stuffed. You don't read my
posts, yet you complain. It was clearly marked as OT (which means off
topic if you didn't know), as well as being about Bush's colonoscopy, and
that it was political comments. I don't know how much clearer I could
have made it for you. There's plenty of others here to give you
information, so feel free to KF me. You owe ME an apology, and I don't
give a rats ass what you or anyone else thinks. There was and is no
discord I can see, except someone who picked an appropriate name,
"blinded". And for someone who "didn't want to broach the subject", your
sure did a "fine job" of it.
So get stuffed, consider my apology rescinded, and do yourself a favor
and continue to ignore anything I write in here. Political or otherwise.
I have found a more appropriate venue for your polite ramblings, they
call it a circular file, as in a trash can. You don't like it, tough,
don't read it. Try the subject line, it might offer you a clue. Everyone
got the joke but you. I'm not here for respect, I'm here to offer support
and that includes humor where ever you can find it, even if it's not
George Carlin material, but you probably don't get him either, since he'd
be the first one to joke about the president's ass.
I will agree with you one point- there's lot more important things going
on.
On that note, I'm done with you--og

OG,
I read what you post and am very appreciative for the information and
the advice, (here it comes) BUT
when I read your political mishmush I shake my head and lose respect for
you.
I am sure that you will do as you want, but I am wondering if there
would be a better place for this type of discord to be posted.
I tend to avoid all of your posts, as a result of these postings, and
that deprives me of much information that I can use. The tone and
nature of your political postings disturbs me worse than your other
valuable posts benefit me.
I believe that others feel the same way (although I have no way of
knowing this) but do not want to broach the subject with you.
Please find another venue for your political opinions.

Hey folks,
It's big news, Bush is having a colonoscopy and polyps removed from his
colon and Cheney is now the de facto POTUS for the moment.
A few thoughts/ questions come to mind. Can Cheney begin a war with
North Korea or Iran in the limited time he has allotted?
And is removing anything from Bush's ass, not the equivalent of a
lobotomy on a normal patient? Is this not brain surgery, in his case?
And I wonder, how accurate any of this will be, after all, they want
you squeaky clean inside for this procedure. How do you "empty" someone
as totally full of *** as George "Dubya" Bush?
Apologies to any pro Bush folks out there (both of you), but the joke
was impossible to resist.--og : )
