Has anybody had the experience of being "banned" from a forum because
they may have had a disagreement with another participant, and the
"moderator" decided to boot you off that forum? I can't believe how
heavy handed these forums can get. I was on a neuropathy forum for pain
and emotional issues. The administrator boots me off...doesn't respond
to my emails and leaves me out to dry. It is so arbitrary and
frustrating. I can't talk to the people I care about or argue the fact
that I was baited by a mean spirited individual. Arrrrggggg!
I've been banned from forums like that...several times.
Some times you can't up stage the mods don't cha know :) a big head is
hard to get along with, for instants right now, right now :) lol, it's a Van
Halen thingy, it's one of those, you'd have to be there to know what's going
on deals, like, right now! for me...Joe
I can't
recall if it ever happened for that exact reason...mostly, it had to
do with my having served a prison sentence on drug charges. One, at
least, was never warm toward me-a member even wrote, warning me about
the moderator's view of 'illegal activities' (it was six years from my
release...and my post has warned someone against illegal activities.
The other group was all gushy, at first-then, gradually, turned
against me-banning me on the same day that I announced the suicide of
another member. Yet another time-the time, looking back, that the
moderator had the best reason-people had been writing to me, egging me
on, against the moderator-yet, when was banned, no one kept in touch-
they just enjoyed the fight, I guess.
I've kind of decided to leave groups like that alone-I really don't
need it. Although this group can become 95% flames the support always
comes through-orelse, this group would have either been deleted, or
taken over by spammers, long ago.
Oh-most of those groups have always seen online pharmacies as anathema-
yet, when someone has posted a link I've seen, (at least 3 times) the
poster dumped on, sometimes banned...but, the post, link intact, has
remained for a year or more!
So, you can see-at least in those cases, the rules had become more
important than the support aspect.
So, JJ, welcome...things are a bit uneasy, but right now, there's more
support than anything else, right now.
