Dear Angelsong,
Definitely keep us up on what they find and check out that RSDhope site that
Sean mentioned. Lots of good info. RSD happens in stages and you don't
necessarily have to have all the symptoms, but speed of treatment is pretty
important to keep it from progressing and even in some cases reversing it.
The usual therapy is high dose narcotics. I'm not exactly sure how that ends
up reversing it, but it happens, if you catch it early.
You're lucky you have a doc that believes in it. Like some docs and fibro,
they can't get it through their heads it's a real disease. So don't be
surprised if you run in to some of the old stubborn attitudes along the way,
but keep fighting. No matter what it ends up being.
Sending good thoughts your way--og

I may have RSD, that is if then next test my Dr. wants to run on me is
negative. That test is for ovarian cancer which I don;t think is
possible. No women in my family have had ovarian cancer & I know that
means little - I just don't believe it is so. I have had FM for over
26 years. A month and half ago my right foot began to swell and now
my entire leg is swollen and painful. My foot is red and boy is it
ugly. My son's wedding is comming up and I wonder how I will be able
to buy shoes. I am afraid they will think I have something catching.
Of course my mind is frozen on a ovarian mass they are looking for.
Yesterday I avoided going to a funeral - if that means I am coward and
my faith is weak - then I am a cowardly. I doubt the hostess will mind
if I miss her funeral, she was a kind lady. Maybe we can have that cup
of coffee we never seem to have time for. She was a female Job. I kid
you not. Her last few decades were spent in painful muscle spasm of
Parkinsons, if fact she was frozen in place her face in a permanent
cry. Last year she lost her husband who drove 60 miles to be at her
side every day. We thought he would outlive her but thankfully she now
is with him..
If it is cancer. If it is incurable. I would just like to be here has
long as my family needs me then I will take enough medicine to put
myself to sleep forever. I do not want my children to have to see me
wither away and my husband to grow old with grief. He is a good man &
we have been married 31 yrs. But emotionally he is not strong. When
our pets had to be put down I had to take them to the vet and bring
them home. I see this no different. So I hope it's not cancer, maybe
this is the way God is showing me "What do you want cancer or RSD?" I
hope he gives me a choice.
