My vote is for stupid. If you have to deviate from rx instructions make a
token call to the office, asking permission to deviate, and then do what you
need to do to keep the pain at bay. That's before the first signs of the
real pain hits. He may just be opiphobic with long acting meds, too easy to
abuse, and may have more faith in the plain old IR drugs. ALL DOCS have
mental issues, I have never been more sure of this in my life, so make it a
token effort document who you spoke to and when, and when they say you'll
have to wait a week/month for the doc to come back from his vacation to
Greece, make it known that's unacceptable. You'll do what you need to for
your physical and mental health. If you can get another med professional to
back your play great if not, be yourself if you get called on the carpet.
You are right, they are on vacation. Just watch that Tylenol depending on
the largess in what was prescribed. Suing for terminal liver and kidney
damage won't help anyone.
Hang tough. If I had the balls and the other stuff required I'd fly out and
try doing a block on you myself. The odds are about as good as them doing
one.

I just can't shake this pain spree. It hurts if I bear down, it hurts
when I talk, it hurts when I bend over, it hurts when I am sleeping
flat, it hurts when I am standing. It just hurts, all day. I can drug
it away but when the immediate release wears off the pain is back.
My headaches and neck and head pain are usually just left sided but
this bout is right sided too. It even hurts to move my eyes. Writing
this early because it will hurt too much if I try later. Just venting.
That stupid pain doctor screwed up my script again despite my written
medication request. I have four months worth of med's now. Is he
really that stupid or is he trying to see if I am abusing it somehow?
