Aloha All!

First off, my deepest and sincere apologies for simply "dropping out
of sight" for the last WEEK. However, I've good reason for it and
really don't care to "advertise" the why's, what's and where's of it
all. I guess to give any of you that may be worried, upset (in a good
or bad way) or could give a damn either way a sense of reason; Just
let me say the bottom-line is my insurance company's lack of
compassion for providing proper prescription coverage for the
"correct" medication so I am having to take a substitute medication in
it's place which is a lot, A LOT(!) more dangerous than the "correct"
one I should be on. Its the difference between a schedule 4 and a
schedule 2. That's a huge difference in medications, my friends.

Talking to my beings other half, we've decided to tell the insurance
company to F-off and simply pay for dang drug rather than face it's
ugly side effects every 21 to 24 days.

As the sugject line suggests, this is a wonderful place to live when
you are totally healthy and not so bad even when you don't have ALL
your health, however, when a person is forced to "bite-the-bullet"
once a month because some insurance exec. decides to change policy
coverage on ones meds and forces me to take something that's "close-
to" or "almost-like", it doesn't matter where you are living because
when I'm fighting THAT monster, I could be in heaven or hell and I
wouldn't know the difference.

I know, scetchy excuse. However, those who have gotten closer to me
than others may know what I'm talking about and some or everyone will
(who am I to say?)! Just know I'm sorry and I CAN'T WAIT to catch up
on everyone's lives and who a certain "new-member" is that has an
interesting sense of "humor?"....hmmmmm...

Note to OG & Legend: Yes, I'm ALIVE!

Aloha Just For Now,
Hawaiian Wayne

First, good to see you back, OG...as well as Wayne. About these
insurance companies-what's their criteria for a drug being 'just as
good'? Even generics of the SAME drugs vary-quite noticeably. Is it
solely based on cost? With mine, if a drug is covered, it's covered-
although the copay can be a lot higher if you, or your doctor insist
on the name brand.

This sure is a change from the days when the doctors got respect-from
all sides-and usually deserved it. If a doctor wrote a certain
prescription, that's what the patient would get. Now, I'm waiting for
them to refuse all of the stronger meds, except for methadone. It's
the cheapest-never mind the side effects!

Well, Wayne, I hope this works out for you. OG, I hope that your
sister is better, and that your family life is as 'back to normal' as
it can get. I stated it in another thread-I as able to go to an event
in Manhattan-the first of many (I wish!), or at least a few of the
food festivals, concerts, and street fairs that have always made
summer in the city a special time for me. Yes I hurt a little more-
but that's to be expected...and it hasn't immobilized me!

I mentioned a while ago that I might have kidney stones. My PC sent
me to he hospital for some tests, and it doesn't look like that's the
case. However, I DO have a urinary infection that has been with me,
off and on, for abut four months now-maybe more.

Debs, Lavon, you just keep taking care of yourselves. And I wish ALL
of you (should we say us?) as much pain-free time as possible,
starting tonight.
