Dear Andrea,
One hell of a couple months indeed, and thank you for your condolences. But
way to hang tough in the face of anti-narco fascism. Makes you want to make
an appointment just to kick him in his giblets and ask him if he'd like a
tylenol. Then take your oxy and morphine in front of him while he lies at
your feet, curled in the fetal position, hugging his nuggets.
Those Myelograms can sure make an EMG seem like a day in the park. I hope
they find something easy to fix (but fusion usually weakens the level above
and the level below) but just don't be in a hurry to throw the moron's card
in the trash. Your lawyer may want it. The leg pain can often be beaten
where the back is often a different outcome all together, but you have
improved your chances 100% by getting a real doctor.
It's good to see you back whatever the circumstances.
Hang tough--og

It's me Andrea..
I was thinking about you all and thought I would check in..
First let me say to OG that I am so very sorry for your loss.. It
broke my heart to read that your Momma had passed away.. My thoughts
and prayers are with you and your family..
Well as for me, April and May has been very hard on me.. The first
week of April I went to get refills from my so called pain doctor.. He
then told me that he was shutting down his office and leaving town and
I had a month to find a doctor.. It was ok with me since I had already
found a new doctor anyways.. I just had to wait since the appt was at
the end of the month..
April 26th I went in to see this new doctor and omg a very good one..
By this time I couldn't use my arms.. I was in that much pain and
crying all the time.. He listened to everything I had to say and
always made eye contact with me. He gave me permission to take one
extra of each of my medication which helped a lot with the pain.. He
didn't write a new scrip for the medication because I had extra's and
since he wanted me to go back in to see him in a week or so.. He told
me that he wanted me to see a Anesth. doctor.. A doctor who will put
in a morphine pain pump..
Anyways, the other doctor who was giving me my pain meds called a few
days later.. He wanted me to make an appt because they finally got the
approval for the EMG but first wanted me to come in to get my last
refill..
Well I go in and tell him that there was a change in my pain meds..
His eyes got big and said OK ANDREA WHAT ARE YOU TAKING NOW??
I said well the new doctor added an extra dose of the Morphine &
Oxycodone to 3 times a day.. He said, why didn't he write you a scrip
for more medications? I said because I had extra's and I knew it would
be to soon to get refills and my insurance would not pay for me to get
them to soon.. So I tell him I was in so much pain that I couldn't
even use my arms..
He got so mad and he said NO.. He said I want you to go back to twice
a day on each pill.. I said NO!!! I said I can not live like this
can't you understand? I AM IN PAIN.. Yes I started yelling at him..
So what he did was kept the Morphine to 3 times a day and cut back the
Oxycodone back to 2 times a day.. He says, Andrea, you are at your
limit on pain meds.. I told him how can that be when I know ppl who
are on more and higher doses.. He said nothing.. I was still mad as
hell but that will change soon.. You can bet on that..
May 3rd I went in for my the second injections. Even thou it didn't
help me the first time which was in March I think, I was really hoping
it would work this time.. Well it didin't.
Just before he got started on the injections, I talked to him about a
pain pump and he said NO. He got mad.. He was even yelling at me.. He
said my insurance will not pay for it. And he said even if I got one,
he will not see me to give me the refills of the morphine because he
won't take my insurance and the only reason why he took me is for a
favor to my so called pain doctor who was leaving town..
Of course I started crying.. I was in shock to hear that my insurance
would not pay for a pain pump..
Anyways Friday as I layed here resting, I thought Hmmmm I will call my
insurance to find out for sure.
I call my insurance and guess what? That doctor was so wrong.. My
insurance will pay for the pain pump.. I was so happy.. My insurance
said as long as I got two or more doctors that say I need one, then
they will pay for it..
Well I got two doctors that already says YES..
Anyways, this past week was very hard on me.. Tuesday I went in for a
EMG which was a little painful for me. I have big purple bruises where
he stuck that needle in.. He told me the results as soon as he got
done.. He says I do not have any NEW nerve damage.. The nerve damage I
have is from the surgery I had in 2002 & 2003.. That is what the
doctor says anyways..
Wednesday 5/16/07 I was admitted to the hospital to have another CT
Mylagram. They didn't send me to the other place where I had the first
and second Mylagram test.. Remember the first time, that doctor stuck
that needle in my back 14 times and never got in my spine? Second time
went well except I was dehydrated and had to be put on a IV after the
test..
Come to find out the idiot doctor had only ordered the lower spine be
checked, so that is why I had another CT done..
Well again of course I had complications and ended up there for 8
hours after the test and then sent home..
Everything was going good as far as the test.. He numbed the spot and
then stuck the other needle in and got in my spine and took out some
spine fluid. I said ouch ouch ouch due to the pressure.. He then put
the dye in..
All of a sudden I tell the doctor, ok doc I can't feel my ***.. He
says, that's ok it normal.. Then I tell him, I can't feel my legs.. He
says it will come back.. Well it did alright.. The feeling came back
but came back in so much pain that I was screaming.. I wanted to get
up and run and couldn't.. The nurse almost had to lay on top of me to
keep still while they moved the table up and down..
Then they moved me to a bed on wheels and I still had to stay on my
tummy with my head up so that the dye didn't go to my brain..
They rush me to get pictures and I even then I was screaming even
after they put me on my back. It took everything I had to keep still
while taking the pics.. I rolled some of the blanket and put it in my
mouth and screamed in pain..
They finally get me to the recovery room and gave me something for the
pain.. I was out cold with in minutes.. I woke up about 4 hours later.
I went to get up to to go potty .. When I got up my left leg wouldn't
work right.. It was floppy to where I could hardly stand.. They right
away called the doctor, so I had to stay in the hospital till it I
could walk better and the feeling come back..
This time the dye went all the way up to my neck.. This NEW doctor was
checking it all this time.. I will be calling the NEW doctor on Monday
for an appt to get the results.. I can not wait..
Anyways, Friday I get a call from the NEW doctor who will be talking
to me about the Morphine Pain Pump.. I wil see him on Tuesday the
22nd..
Oh yeah I forgot to tell mention how I caught a man trying to break in
my apt while I was in my room laying down in pain.. This happen at the
end of April.. I get a call from a lady who can see my back door.. She
says, Andrea, a man is trying to break in and this is his 3rd time
trying in the last few minutes as he went from his place to my place 3
times.. The 3rd time when was at my door and I got the call, I jumped
up and peeked around the corner. I said excuse me but can I help you.
When he saw me, it scared him because he did not think I was home.. He
thought I was next door which I was earlier.. The sliding glass door
was open but the screen door was locked to let some cool air in my
place.. It was hot that day.. I watched him trying to open that screen
door and looking at my purse and keys to my car's which was on my
recliner..
He said, I need to some money, can you give me money.. I said no and
shut and locked my door right away.. I watched what apt he went in.. I
was shaking mad.. I get the 9mm out of the case.. I load it.. I was
ready if he decides to come back again.. I will shoot first and ask
questions later.. I was pissed..
Anyways, as I sat on the couch thinking, I called the cops.. Six
police cars showed up.. They talked to me first and then walked out my
back door and pulled out their guns..
They surrounded this guys apt. who happens to just be staying there
since he was homeless and the girl who does live there took him in to
help him and his family.. But then I had never seen him before so I
had no idea who he was..
Anyways, the cops knocked on his door and he of course answers the
door.. They right away throw him to the ground.. He just about pissed
his pants, he was so so scared..
Well he was not arrested because he was a mental case.. I told the
cops ok if he trys this again, I will shoot him if he gets one foot in
my home. They said, I have every right not protect myself.. They did
get his info on him so they know if anything happens, he will be the
first they look at..
Anyways, the next day my daughter comes over. I told her what
happened.. She brings her zapper.. It's a two foot stick with prongs
on it and if touched it sends 500 thousand bolts to the body.
Well if this idiot trys this again, you can bet he will be in for a
shock of his life..lol
Anyways, I hope everyone is doing good as far as your pain.. Sorry my
post is so long.. I feel like I just wrote a book..lol
Hugs, Andrea
