Re: Now Clean (I hope)

Dear rk,

I can't tell you how much I appreciate it, though. I try to stay up on the
maintainence on all the machines on my lil old network, so I have spares for
the spare if need be.The laptop is the one I use the most, since I can even
use it in the "throne room". I've written some pretty good stuff from the
john.
But we're all in this together and if somebody sees something wrong, I want
to get on it before it spreads, plus it gives me some tinkering to do. Since
the NetWare classes and the MSCE stuff was years ago, many things have
changed and it's a good opportunity to use a little of the trouble shooting
skills that have been since covered by rust. And I also have a bad habit of
tinkering. trying for more speed and bandwidth out of a rig, next thing you
know you've tweaked yourself right in to the blue screen of death.
But thanks again. You got me wondering about your avast software. Are you
using the freebie or did you buy? What I saw on the website was fairly
impressive for free.

Thanks again--og

Hey guys,

I think you guys should be safe with stuff coming off this computer now,
safe from viruses at least, I can make no claim like that for what I
write, however.
I don't know what the hell happened, it must have picked the bugger up in
transit, as Norton showed me clean again as did a test post in an obscure
group. I tried to get the message pulled but I don't know if that's gonna
work or not.
I want to give applause to rk for finding it and letting everyone
including myself know about it. Hell of a job. If anyone ever sees
something like that, please give a shout. As I said I don't do
attachments or HTML in here, and when I cut and paste an article, it's
always from printer friendly format with all the little objects cut from
it. Who knows I may have missed something and that attachment might have
been an AP or Reuters banner.
And that article was semi shitty anyhow. No loss, just be ready if you
hear a bunch of *** about narcotics making long term changes to
receptors in the brain. Since long term pain does too, maybe they'll
cancel each other, but you'll never hear about anything but the
scandalous action of narcotics.
All right, off my soapbox.
Now everybody stand back cause I'm going to hit send. Here
goes....3...2.... 1...--og!
