Immediately upon reading this I called the number. I was so stoked to
think about switching back from methadone to oxycontin (i had only
switched previously due to cost) But the Purdue Pholks let all the
air out of my balloon. Heres how it works ...using my wal-mart script
insurance card as an example. previously my copay for generic
oxycontin for #60 80mg monthly was 85 bucks, name brand would be
around 140. What the lady on the Purdue Pharma line told me was
this: I pay the the first $10 of the copay, bringing the remainder
name brand copay down to 120, of that amount Purdue is kind enough to
pay $20 dollars of that amount, leaving me with a copay of 100....oh,
plus the 10 I was already responsible for, so in essence, they should
just say it is a 10 dollar off coupon per script. I cannot believe the
gall med companies have in using such tactics.
Now maybe I misunderstood, but I asked her 3 times to clarify, and it
was the same each time. For all of us, I hope this rep was
misinformed, so please, I encourage others to call this number and ask
the same question (especially before changing your scripts)
Darn it, og, it sounded like a dream had come true....hope youre
doing well on the mend dude :)
