Not everybody is in 'the grip' of oxy. If taking it for pain and it's working why would you want to experience the pain? Are you trying to stop oxy so you can try a different med? Whay are you so ANTI oxy?

I totally agree here. My meds do NOT have a "grip" on me at all! I take them as prescribed and thats it. No cravings, no running out early, nuthin. Just take the pills, get relief, and the only gripping is when I open the bottle and take ahold of my dose for that time. Perty simple, if ya ask me.
Now if the OP is abusing their meds, thats another story, and I believe that at least one of the meds thats used for controlling withdrawl symptoms comes in a patch form. Clonodine comes in 3 day patches. But I dont feel controlled or gripped or anything else by my 'contin' medication. Im just grateful as hell that I have em and know that withdrawing off em, no matter how easy the withdrawl is made, just leaves me in agony. I searched for this kinda help deliberately, unless it gets yanked out from underneath me, I have no reason at all to look for a kinder, gentler withdrawl since NO withdrawl will be kind or gentle when the end result is me going back to the suffering I experienced before.

For those of you living with long term non terminal chronic pain who are taking Oxycontin or MS contin etc.. and now you wish to quit for your own personal reasons but you don't know how to stop because of the grip these pills has, I have a idea. What about a Patch created to help with the withdrawal just like the nicotine patch. would this be a viable?
