Opana ER?

Was just prescribed Opana Er 20mg. I see that it is new. Has anyone
had any experience with this? My doc said that all of his patients
have said that it's worked real well. I was taking 20mg dilaudid per
day. Hoping this will take over for that. It's nice to finally have
a time-released med. Couple of q's: Does this one really last 12
hours? I've read in here that many have to take 12 hour meds every
8. I asked the doc if it lasts 12 hours and he answered a resounding
yes...so I don't think I'd ever be able to change it to 3x/day. I
still have some dilaudid for break-thru just in case. Also, is this
an absolute no no with alcohol like palladone? I usually have one
glass of red wine every Friday at our weekly family dinner. It has
never reacted badly with any of my previous meds. But I'm
worried...would this release all the dose at once? Any thoughts/
experiences appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
