a google search ofpaincenters in your area andchronicpainmanagement
clinic's or centers, you'll find a good doctor, make sure to tell them how
you feel, it may requied a 24hr psych ward trip but you'll get a doctor or
two on your side who will back you up when you need it, good luck friend,

I am sorry but I am giving serious thoughts to just calling it quits.
I met with a doctor who has helped me in the past. He said he was
unwilling to give me long term drug therapy but could support me for a
year. I declined as I do not want to go through the hell of withdrawal
again. Killing myself would hurt less and only once. All doctors are
money grabbing, egotistical bad doers who probably do not know
anything about Hippocrates but know everything about maximizing
profits at patient expense.- Hide quoted text -

Aloha...MIKE???
OK...could I ask a favor of YOU? Would you please POST something so
those of us here that do care for you know that you took our advice?
The silence is a bit unnerving, to say the LEAST! Hopefully you'll
post or, if you have a stange sense of humor like I do, you'll just
let us "sweat", have a few laughs at OUR expense and THEN post
something. LOL!
JOE_Z, as you can tell, I live in Hawaii...not ON the ISLAND OF...BUT
THE STATE. In that state, there are many islands. The ONE that seems
to be the most like the mainland is Oahu, where Honolulu is.
I live on the most northwest of the 7-8 inhabitable islands called,
KAUAI. This island is packed full of the "old Hawaii charm and 'aloha
spirit' " and is THE most rural.
You suggested Mike do a Google for doctors and/or pain
clinics...well....
The pain management doctor that I consider to be the BEST overall
doctor in the world and went to for SEVEN years, retired a year ago
and even with a list of doctors to go to ON KAUAI that he listed on
his "retirement announcement" letter to his patients, oddly enough,
are refusing to take on his patients! I've got a very limited
selection to choose from here and flying to Oahu (where you can find
an GET anything you want) is so hard on my body and back (since '97 to
2000, I had 3 major surgeries that have rendered me with "failed back
syndrome". I believe a large part of the reason for those failures was
due to me having to fly before AND within a week AFTER said
surgeries...not a pleasant experience!), that any flying and the
general "activities associated with it, can and DOES render me bed-
ridden for no less than 7 days but usually many more!!!
Ther are NO pain clinics on Kauai. The Hospital(s) here are barely
THAT. Anything other than removing a torn meniscus in a knee requires
a patient to fly to Oahu for the surgery as the hospitals here haven't
the technology (nor doctors intelligent enough) to handle such
surgeries.
Kauai is truly "Paradise on Earth" if you are healthy. If you aren't,
then quite the opposite is the case!! Any suggestions for ME at
helping me find a new pain management doctor again? I knew I had the
one and only doctor on this island that fully understood and knew how
to treat chronic pain properly and wasn't "afraid" to either.
OK, back to MIKE! Where art thou??? PLEASE POST, BUDDY!
Aloha for now,
Hawaiian Wayne/Hapopy cHunk
