Re: I don't know how much longer I can hold on

Yes I am talking about Section-8.. There is HUD too..

When I moved here to Reno in April of 2005, I applied for HUD.. HUD
works faster than Section-8.. We WERE in a HUD apt in about 2 1/2
months after applying.. It took them a while to do back ground checks
and making are income was right.. The first unit they offered us was up
stairs so we turned it down.. The second unit we took.. It was there
where my husband died.. I have since moved from there since where I
lived was not a good area for me and the kids...

Before we moved here from Las Vegas, we were also told Section-8 and
HUD was shut down in that city..

Go to the office and pick up and application (SECTION-8).. PPL who are
disable go to the top of the list.. They do here anyways..

HUD is where they place you.. Section-8 is where you find your own apt
who takes it which is BETTER than HUD.. WIth HUD, you can end up in the
ghetto...

And.. Have you thought about applying for Housing assistance? They are
a BIG help..

are you talking Section 8 here?
If so, in my area (Pacific NW), it's been cut massively by the feds and is
all but nonexistant now..........unless you are lucky enough to get on a
place that has a few apts with funding........but you wait and wait
(and wait)

Those regular Section 8 lists took forever for one to get to the top before,
now they've closed them all here..........I read they were doing this back
east, too, even at the expense of folks with kids that really need that help
